The aim of the course is to train students to have an integrative approach towards engineering and management. "Companies are going through vast changes to improve their competitive position and information technology is a primary enabler of those changes. Professionals need to have a good understanding of information technology and its implications to succeed. The increasingly powerful role of IT in business has created a tremendous need for managers trained in IT management," added D N Rao, director, AIMA-Centre for Management Education (CME).
The duration of the course is two years. "The students will have to finish a project. They will get 30 hours practical training in HCL centres. We have realised that handson training is an important component in any technical course. The venture will also ensure that students from the institute are absorbed by HCL," added Mohan.
